ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The Gunners stayed top of the Premier League after a thrilling draw at Anfield on Saturday night following first-half goals from Gabriel and Mohamed Salah. While both teams had 13 shots on goal, the hosts had three shots on targets to the visitors' two. Manager Klopp was hugely impressed by Mikel Arteta's men, felt his side held their own as well, but admitted they could have been more clinical – with Trent Alexander-Arnold missing a golden chance to win it late on.

WHAT JURGEN KLOPP SAID
He told : "Oh my god, how strong are they? The good news is we are good as well. In a game like this, going down early to a set piece is tough, especially with the speed of Arsenal. But the game we played, how we started second half we should have scored. We pass instead of shoot, four or five times we do that, it's a lesson. But generally the game is great."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Arsenal will probably be the happier of the two sides as they are top of the table at Christmas and getting a result at Anfield is always a bonus. Liverpool, on the other hand, will feel disappointed they only picked up two points from league games against struggling Manchester United and the high-flying Gunners. Regardless, there is only one point separating the two teams but they may rue the chance to put more distance between them and defending champions Manchester City.
